മഴ കോരിച്ചൊരിയുകയാണ്.

കുന്തിയുടെ ദുഃഖം പോലെ,

ആഴത്തില്‍.

രാധയുടെ പ്രണയം പോലെ,

ആയിരം വര്‍ണങ്ങളില്‍.

സീതയുടെ വിരഹം പോലെ,

നിസ്സഹായതയില്‍

മഴ പൊഴിയുകയാണ്.

സന്തോഷത്തില്‍. ഭൂമിയിലെ ജീവജാലങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന മട്ടില്‍. വരണ്ടുണങ്ങിയ മണ്ണിനും പുല്‍ക്കൊടികള്‍ക്കും മനസ്സുകള്‍ക്കും പുതുജീവന്‍ നല്‍കിക്കൊണ്ട്‌.

മഴ താണ്ഠവം ആടുകയാണ്.

ജീവന്‍ അപഹരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്‌.
ചിലരുടെ മടിത്തട്ടിലേക്ക്‌ ദു:ഖം വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട്‌.
തല്‍ക്കാലമെങ്കിലും ചില മനസ്സുകളില്‍ തീ ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്‌.

മഴ പെയ്തുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു.

തന്റെ ജോലിയില്‍ മാത്രം മുഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ. കയ്പും മധുരവും വിരഹവും പ്രതീക്ഷയും പ്രണയവും ശോകവും ആഹ്ലാദവും ഒക്കെ പോലെ താനും ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഒരു അവശ്യഘടകമെന്ന് ഓര്‍മ്മിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്‌.
